Belco provided the electrical installation for the new Lawndale High School Student Services Center. The construction project replaced older infrastructure that was in need of repair and updating, and added new buildings to accommodate new, advanced learning facilities.
The Lawndale High School Student Services Center consists of approx. 125,000 square feet spread over 3 stories housing administrative, student services, classroom spaces and the campus Library. There are 42 teaching stations encompassing standard classrooms, Labs and Elective courses.
The new Center is built to the highest energy-efficiency standards. Belco installed sophisticated lighting controls throughout the building as well as in outdoor locations. All lamps and ballasts in the school are energy-efficient. In addition four EV charging stations were installed in the school’s parking lot.
A shining crown of the project is the newly renovated library. The library includes state of the art lighting that provides a dramatic interior view while maintaining a high-level of energy efficiency. In order to stabilize the long tubular light fixtures and meet strict seismic requirements, Belco designed a wire support system to anchor the lights and keep them from swaying more than 45 degrees in the event of a Southern California earthquake.
The Lawndale High School Student Services Center provides the student body with a modern facility and advanced learning environment.
